Hamza: PDK is competing with a concrete program to say stop to the crisis

The leader and candidate for prime minister of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, has called on citizens to vote on number 125 on June 7 to say stop to the crisis and change Kosovo.

Hamza, at a press conference on Thursday, presented the five main commitments of the PDK program: lower prices and taxes, higher salaries and pensions, and support for businesses; investments in energy, infrastructure, and new technologies; quality healthcare, with faster and more accessible services for every citizen; competitive education, skills for the future, and opportunities for young people; and independent, impartial, and efficient justice.

"The program of the Democratic Party of Kosovo is a concrete, measurable and feasible program, drafted by local and international experts. It seriously addresses all issues of vital importance for the state and citizens, with a single goal: a better life for everyone," emphasized Hamza.

Pledgeing a 50 percent salary increase, Hamza urged the incumbent government not to waste state resources with the aim of creating inequality in the competition between political entities, because citizens need permanent financial support more than one-time bonuses.

"There will be a 50 percent salary increase and this will be permanent, not just assistance during election campaigns, so that the citizens of Kosovo have assistance and predictability. This does not mean that public sector workers receive one more salary per year. This means that they receive six more salaries. Someone who currently earns 900 euros should receive 1350 euros with the salary increase. Someone who earns 800 should receive 1200. There will be an increase in pensions for all categories," he pledged.

The PDK leader called on all political parties to use restrained language in the service of a calm, democratic, fair campaign, and with respect for the standards of free elections.

"Above all, Kosovo needs a competition of ideas, not hate speech. For a program and responsibility and not at all with division and conflict," Hamza added.

He invited citizens to join the PDK campaign opening rally in Ferizaj today.

"Today, on May 28, from Ferizaj, we will officially open our election campaign for the June 7 elections. At 20:00 PM, in the square in front of the Ferizaj Municipality, I invite the citizens of Ferizaj and all of Kosovo to join us in opening this new journey for Kosovo. We are entering this campaign with respect for the citizens, with faith in democracy and with a clear vision to bring Kosovo out of the crisis," he said.
