Ymeri: The government should distribute laptops to students instead of books

Ymer Ymeri

Ymer Ymeri from the United Union of Education, Science and Culture said that the Ministry of Education should distribute laptops to students instead of books.

According to him, if computers were purchased per classroom instead of textbooks, it would also help the state budget.

Ymeri said that switching to individual purchasing has caused great damage to the budget.

"The ministry should probably think about not paying for books in this way, as it is paying parents one by one, but rather buying digital devices, a computer for each class, so that textbooks can be digitized. And that student who you buy an electronic device for once, approximately with the amount you allocate for two years, uses it for 8-9 years. All other means that are used, about 20 million, are used inappropriately for textbooks, and when you go to the classrooms, you see that a large number of students have not bought the books, they have borrowed them. I think that the transition from bulk to individual purchase has caused great damage to the budget," he said.
