Wildlife documenters in Kosovo, from the organization "Albanian Wildlife Photographers", Arian Mavriqi and Lulzim Demaj, managed today to document an animal that had been extinct from the Balkans since the 18th century, or more than 200 years ago.
It's about the beaver, which lives in rivers, and once had habitats in Kosovo.
After two weeks of observation, they managed to get footage of the beaver, which, in addition to Kosovo, has also been seen in Croatia and Serbia. There is no information whether it has been seen in other countries in the Balkans.
Photographers call on citizens and state institutions to preserve this animal, as they consider it to be of great importance to our ecosystems.
