New Tesla Roadster: Price, specs, launch date and top speed

The second-generation Tesla Roadster was announced seven years ago, but has been pushed back from time to time on several occasions. Now you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The new electric car is expected to be presented this year and launched in 2025.

The head of the giant Tesla, Elon Musk, has said on Twitter that the design of the new car is complete and that it will be unveiled this year and will be released on the market from next year.

"There will be no car like this, if you can even call it a car. I think it's the craziest model of all time," he said on Twitter.

Musk has also stated that the new Roadster model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than a second.

Currently, the fastest car up to 100 kilometers per hour is the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. It reaches 100 km/h in just 1.66 seconds. The model uses derivatives and special tires to achieve the goal. Even Formula 1 cars are far from that.

However, according to Musk, speed "is the least interesting thing", although he did not indicate what else could be more interesting.

In the past, the Tesla boss said that the Roadster can reach the speed of 0-100km/h in just 1.9 seconds, while the maximum speed it can reach is 400km/h. While in 2021, he said that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.1 seconds.

The Tesla Roadster has not been produced due to back-to-back delays since 2017. The delays occurred mainly due to material supply issues. The same happened with the Cybertruck, which was finally launched.

Tesla has started taking orders for the Roadster. The initial price is about 175 thousand euros. Customers have been asked to deposit around 40 euros at the beginning.

The roadster can travel up to 1000 kilometers on a full battery charge, according to the company.
