They say that all good things come to an end. As well as my diary in "Koha Ditore", in which I had the pleasure and anyway the privilege of writing my regular columns for four years in a row. Despite Flaka's and Agron's insistence that I write the columns in "Koha Ditore", I was somewhat skeptical and avoided the answer for a while. They believed in me, at a time when I didn't believe in myself. When it started happening, I was skeptical that it would last more than three months. But here, four full years have passed and I only have to express my thanks for such professional and correct cooperation with Flaka, Agron, Valbona, Brikenda, Elmaz, Nita, Arbana, and of course with all of you, readers of my diary in "Koha Ditore". For loyal readers, the Diary of an Ambassador will continue, but now in a new embassy... Enjoy reading!

Of course, in the last few days you have all been informed, in one way or another, about the tropical weather that hit Great Britain and part of Europe. Or, as in my case, you were able to experience it on your own skin. Or even worse, based on the weather forecast during the weekend, you will be able to experience such temperatures in Kosovo as well.

In London, for the first time since data on daily temperatures have been collected, the mercury in the thermometer marked 40.3°C. During the weekend, a state of emergency was declared for the first time in Great Britain as a result of the heat.

The English are known to know how to dramatize things and that there is a little Shakespeare inside each of them. However, one thing was evident in all that the authorities and experts were emphasizing. The infrastructure in Great Britain is simply not of that character to cope with high tropical temperatures. Houses are built in such a way as to keep the heat inside. This type of fragile infrastructure to cope with the high temperatures was also witnessed at Luton Airport, where flights were forced to be canceled due to melting tarmac on the runway. The miserable situation was also noted in public transport, especially in the railways, which were sweltering due to the heat. The train schedule was either completely canceled or the trains were running at a much slower speed.

Numerous fires broke out across London. Most were caused by the carelessness of people who had set up BBQs in their yards, and every spark of the fire easily ignited the grass already turned into straw from the drought of the last few days.

Another fact that makes the heat so unbearable in Great Britain is the high amount of humidity in the air. This prevents sweat from drying faster and the human body scrambles to protect itself and acclimatize itself.

This was the situation during the day. For me, the situation was even worse at night because my apartment is on the top floor and the sub-ceiling releases all the heat accumulated during the day. And as we ancient Pelasgians say, the feeling is like being under a scalp or like being in a sauna, but without steam, only with hot air.

Live to show. This is how I would conclude the description of that inferno of hell on earth. As for global warming, I do not belong to the group of people who believe that global warming is caused by the human factor. I think that the human factor may have contributed a little to the acceleration of the process, but I believe that this planet goes through cycles of climate change that repeat themselves over much longer periods of time. However, emissions are a practical method for states and governments to collect various and numerous taxes from their citizens.

In the wake of the promotion of renewable energies, there are also problems that people are not aware of. Solar panels are thought to protect the environment, but they require 300+ times more land than conventional energy sources, and now the Los Angeles Times has revealed that they can "contaminate groundwater with toxic heavy metals like lead, selenium and cadmium".

After the fiery day of hell followed the last direction, also fiery in accordance with the weather, of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister of Great Britain in the British Parliament. In his speech he emphatically stated:

"Stay with America. Help Ukraine. Fight for justice and democracy everywhere in the world."

He also said that his successor as British Prime Minister would have to look forward, but all the time orientate himself with rear-view mirrors while also looking back.

His speech was followed by many cheers from the British parliamentarians, who were unhappy with the many scandals and lies that led Prime Minister Johnson during his administration.

The battle for the top of the government has now come down to former finance minister Rishi Sunak and foreign secretary Liz Truss. In all the polls it appears that Sunak advances in this race, but when it comes to the membership votes, things can change there and Liz Trussi can flood these polls.

I think the British people have again been offered a party choice of the party in power between two evils, one of which is the lesser of the other. And in my estimation, the lesser evil in this case would be the selection of Truss as the new prime minister. She is known for her affinity with America, as well as for her strong stance against Russia's occupation of Ukraine. As for the British economy, there things are not very clear and how Mrs. Truss will approach this issue. Its portfolio does not have any economic background and just yesterday, Great Britain recorded an inflation rate of 9.4 percent, which is the highest in the last 40 years.

The new Prime Minister of Great Britain is waiting for a lot of challenges and carrying the responsibilities to choose them will not be easy at all. It remains to be seen who will win this race and how the new prime minister will approach a host of accumulated problems.

This week, a new chapter was opened for Albania and North Macedonia, which begin with the opening of negotiations for accession to the European Community.

I share the opinion that Albania is already in need of a new constellation of politicians, who will lead the country in the new challenges and journey to join the European family community.

I think that Edi Rama and Sali Berisha have their own merits for some achievements of the successes of the Albanian state since 1997, but they also carry heavy mortgages of failures of society and the state as a whole. And I don't think they would be the right ones to lead the Albanian state in this part of the most important journey. Thank you for this far, but now we need people and fresh political faces, without mortgages from the past.

I will also share a beautiful feeling as a parent here with you in my diary. Two weeks ago, my now 19-year-old son, Joni, with whom we went out for lunch one day, told me that he had planned to go to Pristina next week, together with two of his friends, to stay for 10 days . I felt very good that young people who have the option to go anywhere on the globe for vacation, choose Kosovo. Of course, my son and his friends are not the only ones and there are many of them from all over the world, but now I have the opportunity to express this phenomenon in the media. As long as we have such youth and as long as they have a connection with their parents' country of origin, because they are generations of children born outside of Kosovo, in different countries, I think that there should not be the concern of assimilation and their digestion in the countries and societies where they live and operate. I am of the opinion that bright days await Kosovo with its vital youth, be it local or diaspora.
