The Japanese Air Force creates the Olympic rings

The Japanese Air Defense Force's aerobatic team flew over Tokyo on Wednesday creating the five Olympic rings in the sky, two days before the start of the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics are now set to be held after being postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But no fans will be allowed in Japan, foreign or local, which will also be the first Games without spectators.

Under a pandemic emergency, most Tokyo residents still go about their normal business lives. But unlike other Olympic Games where the streets of the city have been packed and there has been joy and celebration, in Tokyo, parties and gatherings are discouraged.
