Gazmend Hoxha, director general of the Kosovo Police, said that in the case of Banjska, the Kosovo Police had information about the attack and that its response was professional.
"There is information that certain criminal groups, including the Civil Defense and the Northern Brigade, are training and preparing in Serbia, we have analyzed this information, we have made our response plans, we have raised the capacities, we have even the units on call that were ready to react, which was also proven during the operation. It has already been difficult to predict the location or time of the operation because even those who plan it are careful that these important elements of a police or military operation have been kept more strictly or by a certain group", Hoxha stated in an interview on the show "Tempus" on KTV.
He said that he thinks that in a very quick period they have managed to understand the level of this attack.
Also, Hoxha emphasized that the Police's response in the case of Banjska was professional and timely.
"Even our reaction has been very professional within minutes after the killing of Sergeant Afrim, our police units, whether public order, border or special units which have been on standby, have reached support to support our policemen who have been under the barrage of weapons of different calibers as well as roaches, mortars, machine guns, snipers", said Hoxha.
The operation in Banjska, Hoxha said, lasted until the morning.
"All this and we arrived in the morning because that day a big battle took place not only in the morning of the 24th but also during the night. Afrim was killed, the operation lasted 3 minutes and the operation lasted until the morning, exchanging weapons, and in the morning, when our units have an accurate picture of what is there, we have taken the situation under control and our special forces have confronted the criminal group and managed to defeat it in a triumphant way, and you have also seen their withdrawal, leaving and their comrades, their comrades-in-arms in this battle", said the Police Director.
