The number of Facebook users increases, despite the scandals of the social network

Facebook's user base continues to grow, despite privacy scandals and criticism about fake news.

The social media giant said the number of people accessing the site at least once a month rose 9% last year, to 2.32 billion people.

There is also no fear that privacy scandals may have driven away advertisers, because annual revenue indicators rose to 30%.

The increase came despite campaigning to avoid the tech giant.

Founder Mark Zuckerberg said he has fundamentally changed the way the company is run to focus, as he said, on larger social issues.
