However, the truth is simpler. According to the biography of Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson, Jobs chose the name because he simply liked the fruit.

Jobs is thought to have chosen it because Apple resembles something non-intimidating, fun and inspiring.
According to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Jobs had returned from a farm in Oregon and immediately suggested that their company be named Apple Computer. Wozniak then elaborates in his autobiography that the two had tried to find something technical, but had failed, and ultimately decided on Apple.
What about the bite symbol?
The Apple logo today has become synonymous with the company itself. There are several other theories that explain why the bitten apple remained the company's logo.
