Turkey is in an economic crisis that has caused an immediate drop in the value of the local currency - the Turkish lira. This, along with higher tax rates and the exchange rate of the dollar, led to increased prices of imported products. Thus, in one month Apple had to adjust the prices of its products for the Turkish market up to three times. As a result, the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1 TB of storage sold in Turkey is actually the most expensive such iPhone in the world.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1 TB of storage costs $1.599 in the United States. In Turkey, the price is more than twice as high and reaches 3.273 dollars. Of this figure, only $1.636 goes to Apple, while the rest of the money goes to the Turkish government as taxes.
When it comes to the basic iPhone 14, it costs $1.818 in Turkey, which is much more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max 1 TB sold in the US, and the significant differences between these phones are clear.
