Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft Classic will be released on August 26 and 27 this year depending on the territory, while for all PC players with a World of Warcraft subscription, up to three characters will be available which can be used for to explore Azeroth in its original state, before the cataclysm, reports Overclock3D.
For existing WOW players, World of Warcraft Classic is effectively free, giving them access to all original game content, tasks/quests, etc. Much of this content has been deleted from today's World of Warcraft, as old mechanics have been replaced by new ones, and world events have wiped a large number of classic quests off the map. Now PC players can return to World of Warcraft, as originally conceived, KOHA Ditore writes.
World of Warcraft Classic will help Blizzard retain longtime fans while giving new players the experience they missed more than a decade ago.
The World of Warcraft Classic stress test begins later this month for select players, and will be held on May 22nd and 23rd, June 19th and 20th, and July 18th and 19th. Character Creation for WOW Classic will be available from August 13th.
