Google and Facebook on Wednesday became two of the biggest firms to say they will require their employees returning to the office to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning.
In an email to staff, Google founder Sundar Pichai has stated that policy will change in the United States in the coming weeks as more and more vaccinations are required.
"Vaccination is one of the most important ways to keep yourself and the surrounding community healthy in the coming months," said Pichai.
Even Facebook's vice president, Lori Goler, has said that employees returning to work on the company's campuses in the US must be vaccinated.
Facebook plans to have a "process of those who cannot be vaccinated for health or other reasons and will evaluate access to other regions as the situation evolves," Goler said in his statement.
Many large companies around the world are still considering how to safely bring employees back into the office after nearly 16 months of working from home.
