During CES Nvidia has introduced new G-Sync esports displays - monitors that will have a refresh rate of 360Hz. Although this may seem excessive to some, there is a reason why these monitors will be dedicated to the esports market segment, reports Neowin.
The difference, which is less than a second, could mean you survive or win the game. Some esports players even pointed out that they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 240Hz and 360Hz, but were surprised when they switched between the two refresh modes.
The first of these esports screens has been created by Asus and is about the ROG Swift 360, KOHA Ditore writes. The monitor has a 24.5-inch screen with 1080p resolution. Nvidia states that frames in games are displayed every 2.8 milliseconds, which is six times faster than standard gaming monitors or TVs.
G-Sync esports displays offer minimal ghosting, with adaptive dynamic bridging, while Nvidia claims to use the advanced G-Sync processor. With a refresh rate of 360Hz, the company says that improvements of up to 37% will be felt compared to 240Hz, which will be clearly reflected in the gameplay.
Nvidia hasn't announced a launch date, nor a price for the Asus ROG Swift 360 monitor.
