Tech companies Apple and Meta Platforms will face charges of non-compliance with landmark European Union rules aimed at curbing their power, Reuters reported on Sunday.
The European Commission, which launched investigations into the two companies and Google's Alphabet in March under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), sees Apple and Meta as priority cases.
The DMA wants Big Tech to have room for smaller rivals to compete and make it easier for people to move between competing online services like social networking platforms, web browsers and app stores.
EU regulators will issue preliminary findings similar to antitrust charges before the summer break in August, with Apple to be charged first, followed by Meta, sources told Reuters.
