Milan loses but qualifies further

Milan have moved into the circle of the best 16 teams of the Europa League, despite losing the second leg 3:2 to Rennes in France on Thursday night.

Milan's 3:0 victory at home a week ago has meant that the qualification is not in much jeopardy.

The "Rossoners" advance with the overall result, 5:3.

Benjamin Bourigeaud, who scored a hat-trick, scored the first goal in the 11th minute. Luka Jovic equalized for the visitors in the 22nd minute.

Bourigeaud scored from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, while Rafael Leao tied the score at 2:2 after almost an hour of play.

The midfielder of the French team completed the three goals and made it 3:2, again from the penalty.

However, the locals did not have the strength to do anything more and were eliminated from the competition.

Toulouse and Benfica played out a goalless draw, but Benfica's Portuguese side advance after a 2-1 first-leg win.
