The heads of the Cycling Federation are accused of corruption, conspiracy and fraud

The "Marakli t Biciklave" group has great support on social networks. He has 27 thousand followers on Facebook and over 10 thousand on Instagram.

But the "Bicycle Miracles" have not found support even in the Cycling Federation of Kosovo (FÇK), which is headed by Avni Nuha.

The founder of the "Marakli t'Biciklave" organization, Berat Rakovica, says that the FCK, namely the chairman Nuha, tries to hinder them in every organization.

"We have had problems for four years. Every time we have activities, he (Avni Nuha vj) tries to prevent us through the police. Even though it's an illegal request, he keeps doing it. The last time we encountered an obstacle was the organization of 'Cross Country Prishtina'. The Director of Police contacted me and told me that they sent him an email not to support the activity", said Rakovica on Sunday for KOĖN.

Rakovica says that there are over 300 people involved in cycling.

But the community gathered in the group "Marakli t'Biciklave", as Rakovica says, has not been accepted by the KFC. He emphasizes that he has sent two or three emails, but that he has not received an answer from the leaders of the KLF.

"We are an NGO, we are the largest organization in the Balkans for cycling. As we speak, we are active and have over 55 participants, while the Federation organizes a competition and there are not even 40 participants. This was the problem that they did not want to accept us, as the competition increases and the president's son cannot win the order, as someone else does. In order to avoid competition, it acts in this way. They want everything to be under their umbrella, but without registration. We have applied to be under the umbrella of the Federation, but they have not accepted us. We already have our jobs", emphasized Rakovica.

He goes even further with accusations.

"Now we are no longer interested in being part of the Federation, as long as the leadership is the same since after the war. It is the same secretary and vice president. His brother is a selector, his eldest son is a coach, the other is in the club. Club president himself, president of the Federation and director of the company 'Tranzit' himself. The only sponsor that can enter is 'Transit'. He only wants his own close," added Rakovica.

The president of the club Vjosa from Shtimja, Ramiz Smajli, issued harsher accusations against the chairman of the FCK, Avni Nuha, and other leaders of the Federation.

Smajli has actually sent an email to the address of KOŠA where he presented a bunch of accusations and criticisms about the work of Nuha and others.

At the beginning of the long letter, he writes that the Kosovo Cycling Federation is plagued by mismanagement, corruption, rigging of results, fraud with licenses, fraud in the selection of competitors for representatives, neglect of financial reports and work reports, leaving vacancies in the Board and many other violations.

"The president of the Federation is Avni Nuha from KÇ Kastrioti. He is currently in his third term and seems to have created a good circle. This is argued by the facts that he has appointed his brother, Gani Nuha, also from KÇ Kastrioti as treasurer. The same holds the office of the technical secretary of the CFK. While the most serious is the case which is illogical and constitutes a serious violation of the Statute and Regulation of the Supervisory Council. Mejhid Zaskokun from KÇ Kastrioti has engaged him as a 'superman': member of the Board of the FCK, chairman of the Supervisory Council of the FCK, judge of the FCK", Vjosa writes in the letter of the chairman of the club.

Smajli said that the member of the Board, Shqipe Miftari, has also been appointed to the Supervisory Council. According to him, it is not allowed for the member or the chairman of the Supervisory Council to have a decision-making position in the Federation, and he cannot be a delegate, coach or board member.

Ramiz Smajli said that the selector Flurim Shala has his hands tied and that the secretary and treasurer, Gani Nuha, goes to the competitions with him. According to him, the selector does not give a work and financial report, although he has an obligation.

"The selector is chosen every year, the same one for us for eight years. Violation of the KLC statute, article 7, points 2 and 4). The selector is from KÇ Prizren and at the moment there is only one competitor as a club. This is the fourth person involved in these violations and frauds", said Smajli.

He insists that there is no transparency, stressing that no Labor Assembly has been held for three years.

"In the Balkan Championship 2023, only KÇ Kastrioti travels with four competitors, with financing and on behalf of the Representative. As for the Board, there is one vacancy from March 2021 and one from July 2022. The violation of the Board's regulation occurred in the case of the request of three delegates of KÇ Vjosa on April 24, 2023, where the regulation states that the request is reviewed within two weeks and the response to the board's decision is submitted within one month. There is also a violation in Article 28: payment of per diems for traveling board members. There is also gender discrimination. The contestants of our club have been forced to compete, that is, the cadets with the U23 and the 14-year-olds with the 32-year-olds", said Smajli.

Nuha warns of lawsuits

Dissatisfaction with the work of the Federation is also said to be in Prishtina. Prishtina is currently left without a competitor. In fact, the number of cyclists in clubs is quite small. But the accusations are "big".

The head of the Federation, Avni Nuha, says that he is open to face anyone in courts and other justice bodies.

"Today people are given the right to speak what they want and I cannot stop them. But if there are facts, it is the prosecution and let it continue, no problem. We are used to it as a Federation. I've been here for a long time, I know the insults, but I don't see any other way. As soon as I get back I will sue him and then let him settle the facts without any problem. That is the club that I have helped, I have advanced because it is a new club. Let them continue. Your bread sometimes kills you. I am ready to face the prosecutor's office, the court, economic crimes, but let it remain in their conscience", Nuha told KOĖN.

He denies having received a request from the "Marakli t Biciklave" organization.

"'Bicycle Miracle' doesn't know that he made a request and didn't. They can't be accepted as the 'Bicycle Miracle', but they should give the club a name.

They have never asked us if it is possible to be accepted. I am perfect with the people within the Federation, the clubs are perfect. This is the only club that did not do activities in 2023. They are used to the Federation doing the activities for them and now they are talking. I and the members of the Board have the best idea. There are seven members of the Board", said Nuha.

The Kosovo Cycling Federation has not had any major developments or results. There have been occasional accusations from the cycling community. Even in terms of massiveness, there has not been any big step. It currently counts only six clubs.
