The Handball Federation of Montenegro reacted on Monday afternoon to the incidents in the championship match of this country between Berane and Lovqen. The match took place on Sunday and was followed by numerous incidents.
Among others, the fans of Berane, a country with many Serbs, shouted "Kosova, Serbia". There were other insulting calls as well as throwing towards the players and attempts by the fans to fight with them.
"The federation strongly condemns the unacceptable and chauvinist calls as well as the orders in the stands addressed to the away team, which are absolutely unacceptable not only in sport but also in society in general", writes in the communique of the federation of Montenegro.
According to her, the general impression was spoiled by the behavior of the fans. The Federation has warned of measures against those responsible.
