The race for the handball title could be decided at "Bill Clinton"

The "Bill Clinton" gym in Ferizaj is expected to be filled with handball fans again. Thursday's match at 20:00 will be the last for this edition in this gym, but it could also be the final one of the entire championship.

In the second final match of the playoff, local team Kastrioti and Rahoveci meet. Rahoveci won the first final match, played on Sunday at the home of the "vineyards", 28:25. With another victory, they secure the champion title.

In case of Kastrioti's victory, the third match will be played, again in Rahovec next Sunday.

The first final was interesting. The difference was made in the last ten minutes of the first half, when the home team made a 7:0 run. That run made the first half end 19:12 for Rahovec, who then maintained the lead in the second half.

Rahovec won its first title last year and is now looking for its second in history.

"I am pleased with the victory in the first match, but we are aware that nothing is over yet. A big challenge awaits us in Ferizaj against a quality team like Kastrioti and in a gym full of fans. We are preparing maximally to give our best. We aim not to repeat some technical mistakes in the decisive moments and thus seek the victory that would secure us the title", said the coach of Rahovec, Leonard Cula.

Rahoveci finished the regular season without a defeat. They only drew once, against Kastrioti, and won all other matches. In the playoff semifinals, Rahoveci easily eliminated the Prishtina team.

"We respect the opponent, but I believe in the work and dedication of our boys," Cula added.

Kastrioti has won the Kosovo Cup in the last two editions. This edition, in the semifinals of the Cup, they defeated Rahovec and in the final, Besa Famgas. The final, which was also played at the “Bill Clinton”, was attended by about 3.000 spectators.

Kastrioti is expected to have the support of many fans on Thursday night as well. The chances are high that the gym will be filled again.

Kastrioti coach, Verim Zherka, is aware of the mistakes his team made in the first match.

"In the meeting with the players, we concluded that the match in Rahovec was our weakest so far. We had many technical mistakes, but the attackers also did not have their day. However, we showed that we are a team that plays until the end and never gives up. Now we have the match in our fiery gym. I know that the players will give their maximum for victory and we will not repeat the mistakes of the first match. I am aware that it will be a difficult match, but we will try our best to, together with our passionate fans, emerge victorious from the match," Zherka emphasized.

Kastrioti finished the regular season in second place. In the semifinals of the playoffs, they eliminated Besa Famgas from Peja after three games. The team from Ferizaj has not won the title since 2011.
