American swimmer Katie Ledecky has set her first world record in seven years, the BBC reported on Sunday.
The 28-year-old won the 800-meter freestyle race at the Tyr Pro Series in Florida on Saturday, with a time of 8 minutes, 4 seconds and 12 hundredths.
She broke the record she had set nine years earlier.
Ledecky's time was better than her time at the 2016 Rio Olympics, 8 minutes, 4 seconds and 79 hundredths.
Ledecky is a nine-time Olympic champion.
