American Cordell Tinch is the world champion in the 110-meter hurdles. He has completed an amazing journey.
During his three-year hiatus from athletics, Tinch sold telephones, installed cable, and operated machines that produced toilet paper.
The 25-year-old won gold on Tuesday with a time of 12 seconds, beating a strong Jamaican sprinter.
Orlando Bennett and Tyler Mason won the other medals at the World Championships in Tokyo.
"I don't think I would have gotten here without taking a break from athletics, during which I found myself. Finding myself was the most important thing in all of this," Tinch said.
