One of the main events of the year is being held in Tokyo - the World Athletics Championships.
The World Cup kicked off on September 13 and ends on Sunday. 2.202 athletes from 198 countries are competing in the Japanese capital. The competitions are interesting, there are world records, there are moments that go down in history, and there are many events that inspire hundreds of thousands of children around the world to take up sports.
Kosovo also competed at the World Athletics Championships. It was represented by athlete Greta Bakraçi, who competed in the 1.500-meter qualifying race.
The experienced athlete had a time of 4 minutes, 22.6 seconds. She was 54th out of 57 runners who competed in the 1.500-meter qualifiers. Behind Bakrac were an athlete from Norway, one from Uruguay and one from Laos.
The semi-final was a long way off for the Kosovar athlete. 4 minutes, 8 seconds and 67 hundredths was the final time that secured passage to the semi-finals.

In the end, Faith Kipyegon of Kenya was declared the champion with a time of 3 minutes, 52 seconds and 15 hundredths. The Athletics Federation of Kosovo issued two announcements for the World Championships in Japan. The first regarding Bakraç's participation and her goals. The second, titled "Worthy representation by the Athletics Federation of Kosovo in the international arena", regarding the meetings of the Federation's leaders in Tokyo.
But no announcement was made about the Kosovar athlete's competition at the World Championships. As many times in the past and like most federations, the Kosovo Athletics Federation announced participation, not results.
It is hoped that the failure to achieve the goals will be passed on to the country's sports federations as soon as possible. If this can be done quietly, even better.
Many times it is the athletes who ask for their results not to be published. In many cases, federations decide on such a "policy" to avoid possible criticism.
Gresa Bakraçi has given her all at the World Championships, just like in previous events. For the Athletics Federation of Kosovo, more worrying than the 30-year-old's result should be the lack of young athletes with potential, who aim to perform and potentially succeed at the World Championships. For example, reaching the semifinals would be an extraordinary success for Kosovar athletes. But this still seems far away.
The World Wrestling Championships are being held in Zagreb, Croatia.
On September 13, the Kosovo Wrestling Federation announced Egzon Xhoni's participation in the 74 kg category. His competition took place on September 14. However, the KWF has not released any results.

The Federation expects a state record from its competitor at the World Athletics Championships.
The Kosovar wrestler started the competition in the 1/16 finals. He lost 11:0 to Jose Montero Chirinos of Venezuela. In the next round, Chirinos lost 5:0.
In the 74 kg freestyle category, Japanese Kota Takahashi won the gold medal. He won the final against the wrestler representing Albania, Chermen Valiev. Valiev suffered a serious injury in the final, but continued the fight until the end. This sacrifice of the wrestler of Russian origin has caused a stir in the community of this sport.
The World Amateur Boxing Championships were also held this month. 540 boxers from 68 countries competed in Liverpool.
Kosovo's appearance was without any fuss or great success. The Kosovo Boxing Federation has presented all the results.
Kosovo was presented with four boxers. But the medal remained far away. Bashkim Bajoku and Shpëtim Bajoku passed the first hurdles and stopped at the second. Loris Idrizi stopped at the first hurdle, the same as Donjeta Sadiku. Donjeta lost to Viktoriya Grafeyeva of Kazakhstan with the score 3:2. Grafeyeva ultimately won the bronze medal.
The Kosovo Boxing Federation has assessed that injustice has been done to Donjeta.

"Donjeta suffered an unfair defeat. The second and third rounds should have been in Donjeta's favor," the Kosovo Boxing Federation wrote, among other things.
Even in other individual sports, except for judo, Kosovo's participation was quiet, without fuss and mostly without reporting on the results. And this proves that the much-sought-after advancement has not happened for many years, although the state's support for sports and athletes is highly appreciated.
