Midfielder Martin Zubimendi will not leave the Real Sociedad team this summer.
"AS" reports on Thursday that Zubimendi has decided to remain part of Sociedad at least for the next edition. It is said that the 24-year-old has rejected the offer of Barcelona, a team that is evaluating him as a worthy successor of Sergio Busquets. Zubimendi has a contract with Sociedad until 2027 and a release clause of 60 million euros. In addition to Barcelona, he has been persistently sought by Arsenal, the team that was in negotiations with Sociedad for his transfer.
Zubimendi is a product of Sociedad's academy, while since 2020 he has been part of the first team. In 39 appearances this season, the defensive midfielder has 1 goal and 3 assists.
