Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk will undergo knee surgery and is expected to be out for a long time.
Liverpool has announced on the official website that Van Dijk must be operated on after injuring the knee ligaments. He was injured yesterday in the 2:2 draw in the local derby against Everton. Picked up the injury after six minutes after a tackle by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
