Granit Xhaka has been cleared of all charges of involvement in betting after the yellow card he received in Arsenal's 4-1 win over Leeds 17 months ago.
After numerous investigations in this matter, the Albanian midfielder who represents Switzerland has turned out not to have been involved, wrote "Daily Mail" on Saturday.
The Football Association of England, the Gambling Commission and the National Crime Agency have all closed investigations into suspicions that bets were placed on him being punished.
The case came under investigation as it involved a £52 bet that Xhaka would receive a yellow card in the last ten minutes of the match which was played in December 2021.
Mikel Arteta's men were leading 3-0 at the time when Xhaka was penalized by referee Andre Marriner for time wasting in the 86th minute.

Many pictures appeared on social networks where it was seen that the midfielder of the "gunners" was standing next to the ball in his own area of the field and did not start the game for about 20 seconds. He delayed the start of a penalty kick.
After a six-month investigation by the Football Association of England last year, the case was passed to the National Crime Agency as organized crime was suspected, but the case has now been closed due to a lack of evidence.
