The Kosovo U18 basketball team completed its appearance at the European Championship Division B on Sunday.
The performance was not successful. Kosovo U18 ranked last, respectively 22nd out of 22 second-level representatives.
In the match for 21st place, Kosovo was defeated by Azerbaijan with a score of 81:77.
Kosovo U18 has lost all matches at the European Championship in Romania.
In the group, they were defeated by Hungary with a score of 91:66, by Estonia, 95:61, by Switzerland, 81:77, by the Czech Republic, 85:69, and by Finland with a score of 85:78.
For the placement, the young Kosovar basketball players initially suffered from Norway with the scores 82:76.
And they followed that up with a loss on Sunday to Azerbaijan.
Fifth defeat for Kosovo U18 in European B
Besim Bytyqi stood out throughout the Kosovo championship. On Sunday, he played with 32 points, five rebounds and six assists.
Mal Tusuni scored 18 points and 13 rebounds. Edin Baçevac finished the game with 12 points, five rebounds and six assists.
"Despite the final result, participation in this championship has brought valuable experience to the young basketball players, who are expected to grow and contribute to the national teams in the future," FBK wrote.
The last in the European Division B was Kosovo U18 in the girls' competition.
Kosovo U16 girls also had an unsuccessful European Championship. They placed sixth in the Division C European Championship held in Peja.
Another loss for Kosovo U18 in the European Division B Championship
The greatest success was achieved by Kosovo U20 among boys. They placed eighth in the European B. For the first time, a Kosovo representative in the younger age groups reached the quarterfinals of the European B.
Kosovo U20 won their first three matches in Armenia, but then lost four matches in a row. Only Kosovo U16 boys are left to compete. They will appear in the European B Championship in Skopje.
It is in a group with the Netherlands, Denmark, Iceland, Croatia and Ukraine.
