Slovenia has started with the defense of the Eurobasket title. On Thursday night in Cologne, Germany, Slovenia won against Lithuania with the numbers 92:85. The match was decided only in the last minutes.
As expected, the match was strong and even. After an equal first quarter, 27:27, the second quarter was won 24:21 by Slovenia. Lithuania won the third quarter 19:18, while the Slovenians were better at the end and won 92:85.
Mike Tobey stood out in Slovenia with 24 points and eight rebounds. Jaka Blazhiq contributed with 14 points, while Goran Dragic had 19 points. The great star of the NBA, Luka Dončić, finished the game with 14 points and ten assists.
In Lithuania, Marius Grigonis was the best with 18 points and four rebounds. Mindaugas Kuzminksas added 19 points.
Slovenia and Lithuania are in Group B. The Slovenians won the last Eurobasket held in 2017.
