Defender Fabian Schar will be part of Newcastle United even after the end of the current season.
The English club announced on Monday that the Swiss has renewed for another year the contract that expired this summer.
With the renewal of the contract, Schar will remain at Newcastle until the summer of next year, and has the option of continuing for another year.
The Swiss has shown good performances this season and is irreplaceable in the defensive department of Newcastle United.
In 28 games played in all competitions, he contributed with one goal and one assist. Schar has been part of Newcastle since 2018, while earlier he also played for Deportivo La Coruna, Hoffenheim and Basel.
