Legendary Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi has revealed the first thing he said to Silvio Berlusconi when he was appointed coach in 1987. He paid tribute to the late former prime minister.
"When he hired me, I said, 'You're either crazy or a genius.' Based on the results, I found the answer", Sacchi told the news agency "ANSA" on Monday.
Sacchi described Berlusconi as a generous man and brilliant friend to whom he owes a lot. Together they guided Milan to their first Serie A title in nine years, as well as two consecutive European Cup titles in 1989 and 1990.
"I feel bad, he was a great friend to whom I owe a lot. Silvio Berlusconi was a generous man," said Sacchi.
