Amir Rrahmani is one of the players with the most appearances for Kosovo. The central defender of Napoli has 54 appearances and six goals with Kosovo, since he debuted in September 2016. He has been the captain of "Dardans" for five years now. He has a rich career as a footballer, while he has won a Serie A title with Napoli. He intends to pass on his experience to the young footballers who join Kosovo. He does not hide the pride he has for Kosovo. He dreams that one day he will appear with the jersey of "Dardans" in a big event.
"I have been the captain of Kosovo for five years and it is a matter of pride for me. I hope that one day we will play in a European Championship or a World Cup. In my opinion, Kosovo football deserves more attention from Italian clubs. There are many talents", explained Rrahmani in an interview given on Friday for the Italian radio "CRC".
Rrahmani has been part of Napoli since 2020. He was transferred to the Neapolitan club from Hellas Verona. In the past, he also played in Kosovo, Albania and Croatia. But he had the greatest successes at Dinamo Zagreb. He won the championship twice, while another time he was the winner of the Croatian Cup.
"I have been part of Naples for four years and I feel a little Neapolitan. It has not been difficult for me to adapt to the people here, to the club, to the city. I am very pleased to be here. We always have to aim higher when we enter the pitch, we want to win matches and be happy. This is my goal. I hope that we will win on Sunday as well", said 30-year-old Rrahmani.
Napoli on Sunday starts the new campaign of the Italian football elite. He plays on a trip to Rrahman's former team, Verona.

Napoli in the current edition will be led by Antonio Conte, a coach who is known for strong training, but also for the successes he has had in the past.
Rrahmani spoke about the new edition and wishes that everything goes well.
"We are ready for the debut. We had hard training, Conte did that to us. We are a good group. I think we are ready to start the championship. I played one year at Verona. It will be a match against the former team, but that doesn't matter. I aim to win every game. Conte wants us to be prepared for every game and face the league and cup games. We work as a team and we are united."
Conte prefers to play with three defenders at the back. With such a formation, Rrahmani has been used to it in the past, even when he was part of Verona. And for any change, Rrahmani says he is ready.
"We are players and ready to do anything, even when the formation is changed. We've been working all month on this, because we have to learn how teammates move. We worked on movements with and without the ball. I think we are ready for anything", continued the center back of Kosovo.
Rrahmani played 39 games in all competitions with Napoli last season, contributing four goals. But, his team did not have the intended success. Napoli finished in tenth position in Serie A with 53 points.
"The goal I remember? All the goals I have scored have been important. "One that I always want to remember is the one against Juventus, when we won 5:1 at the 'Stadio Maradona'," declared Rrahmani.
Rrahmani will be engaged with Kosovo from next month, when the new edition of the League of Nations starts.
