Kosovo striker Milot Rashica is expected to be available to Werder Bremen coach Florian Kohfeldt for the match against Schalke, German media announced on Tuesday.
Rashica trained with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and showed no problems, giving Werder hope that he could be ready for Schalke. The duel between Werder and Schalke takes place on Saturday in the second round of the Bundesliga.
Rashica was absent in the first match, after being injured in the match between Kosovo and Moldova in the League of Nations. He is also waiting for a transfer from Werder.
"Rashica had an intensive session with the athletic coach on Monday, and on Tuesday he trained with the team and we will follow up on his situation in the following days", said Clemens Fritz, an official of Werder. The Kosovar striker is expected to leave the German team during this transitional period, but Werder to release the 23-year-old is demanding at least 20 million euros in compensation.
