Pirlo explains why he left Ronaldo on the bench

Andrea Pirlo has explained his decision to leave Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench in Juventus' win against Lazio last night.

Juventus won with a score of 3:1, thanks to two goals from Alvaro Morata and one from Adrien Rabiot, restoring the gap with Serie A leader Inter to seven points.

The best scorer of the championship, Ronaldo, played only 20 minutes in the second half, while coach Pirlo has said that this decision came because the Portuguese has played many matches in a row, reports Goal.

"The break for Cristiano came after playing eight or nine games in a row, we reached an agreement during the week. It was already planned," added the Italian technician.

"Cristiano is an added value, the boys have done what they had to do. Cristiano has already scored 20 goals, it was normal for others to score as well. When you have a player like Ronaldo in the team, then the result is in your favor that from the beginning. But we made an agreement that he should rest", declared Pirlo.
