A few days were enough for the Priping team from Prishtina to win the first trophy in Kosovo's table tennis.
Immediately after joining the team from England, Nahom Asgedom was declared the winner of the "Independence Day" tournament, held a week ago in Junik. Asgedom achieved this success by achieving nine victories in as many duels, while in the semi-finals and finals it defeated the best players in Kosovo. In the semi-final, Asgedom was better than Fatih Karabaxhak, while in the final he triumphed over Kreshnik Mahmut.
The 19-year-old says that it will not be the last trophy. Asgedom aims to help Priping win the title of champion in Kosovo. He came to the Prishtina team as a reinforcement, and for the first time he is playing outside of England.
Asgedom believes that he can lead Priping to success, although he admits that it will not be an easy mission.
"It is the first time that I am in Kosovo and that I have left England to play for a team from another country. Everyone at the club, including the chairman, has welcomed me very well and I feel comfortable here. The tournament where I debuted was very strong and I have not experienced such competition before, but I am happy that I won. This success came only a few days after I joined the team", said Asgedom.

Priping was founded three years ago, while it continues to have foreign players in its ranks. Before Asgedom, Englishman Chris Doran was part of Priping.
Asgedom says that he had knowledge of the team from Pristina and therefore did not hesitate to accept the offer.
"I saw this team earlier after it was in London and through a contact of mine we talked and I agreed to come to Kosovo to play. Of course I came here to help the team win the title and defend the cup. I hope he will succeed", insisted Asgedom.
He is from Eritrea, but as a baby he settled in England with his family. He says that he has been playing table tennis for seven years and has big goals for the future. In England, Asgedom is part of the Green House team. He was first involved in football, before discovering table tennis at school.
"Yes, I played football first, a sport I still play sometimes. I started playing table tennis when I was 12 years old at school. I really liked it and now it is an inseparable part of me. I'm from Eritrea, where I was born, but with my family we moved to England and I have big goals as a table tennis player", said Asgedom.

Te Pripingu said that this year they have continued the tradition of transferring foreign players. In addition to the successes, the club wants to raise the level of members. Asgedom is one of several foreign players in Pripingu, a team that made the most of the January transfer window. The president of the club, Kastriot Orana, says that these moves will help Pripingu to end the season with great success. He says he has no difficulty finding foreign players, which he secures through a platform founded by some former table tennis players.
"This year we have some foreign players registered as the federation calendar changes and we want to have players available to play for the club as only one foreigner can appear. The arrival of foreign players is also an advancement of our players, as they raise their level by training with them. It's not hard to find them, it's a platform created by some former table tennis players, where they set the requirements and conditions, then different players appear. In January, we had 10 requests to be players in our team, even from countries that have not recognized Kosovo", said Orana.
