The captain of North Macedonia, Goran Pandev, has asked to postpone the match with Kosovo, scheduled to take place on March 26 in Skopje.
Due to the coronavirus, the match will be played without spectators, but the Football Federation of North Macedonia is expected to officially ask UEFA to postpone the match. Based on a recommendation, North Macedonian players who play in Italy must be quarantined for 14 days after arriving in Skopje. Pandev is one of the Macedonian players who made a career in Serie A, reports Koha.net. He is considered a Macedonian legend.
Pandev on Tuesday, through a post on social networks, requested that the match be postponed. He is hindered by the fact that there will be no spectators at the stadium in Skopje.
"Qualifying with Macedonia in the European Championship is more important than anything I have won. We live with the view of the stadium covered in red and yellow colors, which gives us strength and motivates us to achieve what we have been missing for 20 years. Give us the chance for real spectacle, give us the chance to make our fans happy. Health is the most important thing and we constantly pray for it. But give us the chance to realize what we dreamed of as children. For everyone's sake, postpone the match. Because of health and because of correctness and sport", wrote Pandev.
