Francesco Totti believes Jose Mourinho wants him back at Roma and has admitted he could return to the team as part of the staff within a year.
Mourinho's contract with the club from the Italian capital expires in 2024, but Totti hopes that the "Special One" will stay in Rome for a long time.
"As a coach, he is definitely number one. You need great players to win, but a great coach can also help in motivation", said Totti in an interview given to "Corriere dello Sport".
Totti has scored 307 goals in 786 appearances with Roma.
He became the club's sporting director in 2017 after retiring from active football, but resigned two years later accusing manager James Pallotta and the club's management of not being involved enough in decision-making.
