Mali has passed the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations. On Thursday evening, Mali triumphed against Mauritania with the result 2:0 and has qualified further after the 2:0 victory.
With the full points obtained in this duel, Mali goes to the knockout stage with seven points from Group F, while Mauritania is eliminated from the competition, without receiving a single point.
The goals for the Malian team were scored by Massadio Haidara in the second minute and Ibrahima Kone in the 49th minute from the penalty.
The other meeting of Group F between Gambia and Tunisia ended with the result 1:0 for Gambia. With the victory, Gambia passes the group stage from second place with seven points, as much as Mali has, but with a weaker goal tally.
Tunisia is positioned in third place with three points. Tunisia had a chance to score in the first extra minute of the first half. Seiffeddine Jaziri made a mistake from the penalty spot.
The winning goal for Gambia was scored by Ablie Jallow in the third minute of extra time.
