The mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has announced that he met with the well-known Kosovar boxer, Robin (Haxhi) Krasniqi on Sunday at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium in Pristina.
Krasniqi will box on August 5 in "Fadil Vokrri". For Krasniqi, it will be the first match in Kosovo.
"Robin Krasniqi is coming to the stadium of the capital for the first time! Historic evening of boxing: On August 5, the 'Fadil Vokrri' stadium will be filled with the adrenaline of a historic event, an unforgettable night of international professional boxing. Let's prepare for an extraordinary spectacle", wrote Rama on Facebook.
36-year-old Krasniqi is the most successful professional Albanian boxer. In the professional ring, he has 52 wins (20 KOs) and seven losses. He will box in Pristina for a title in the semi-heavyweight category. Krasniqi had won the interim world title in this category in the WBA version. While he has boxed two more times for world titles in the big versions, and once in an eliminator match.
He last boxed on February 25 in Munich, where he defeated Timur Nikarkhoev, a Russian with Belgian nationality, by stoppage in the fifth round.
