A footballer making his career in Ireland says he has the right to compete to play for as many as five different national teams.
It is about Kosovar Sadikin, who is on loan to the Irish team Finn Harps from the Scottish Hibernians.
The 21-year-old Sadiq has played for Canada's U-17, U-20 and U-23. He was born in Germany, but his family left for Canada a few months after his birth.
Kosovar's grandfather, who is of Ferizaj descent, had earlier settled in Canada. His connection with Albania has not been made clear, but the young footballer has said that he has decided to play for Albania.
"I had a conversation with the manager of Canada after a tour in 2018 and I told him that I have decided to play for Albania," Sadiki told the Irish media.
He said that he is qualified to play for Germany, Canada, Kosovo and Sweden. But he decided for Albania.

"My family and I are patriots. I am proud to be Albanian. The family's blood is from Albania. It wasn't an option before because of the passport situation. Canada has taken care of my parents while my grandparents went there as refugees. It was complicated to decide who I want to play for, but I have decided to play for Albania", said Sadiki.
He is aware that in order to reach the representative level, he must rise in his career.
"It will depend on how I present myself this edition at Finn Haprs. If I perform well, it will make a big difference."
