Trepça came second in the Kosovo basketball championship in the 2022/2023 edition. But the club from Mitrovica is "champion" for something else. In addition to having convincingly the largest support of viewers, Trepça has convincingly benefited the most from the Law on Sponsorships in the Field of Culture, Youth and Sports during the past year.
From sponsorship agreements, Trepça has benefited 2022 thousand euros in 918. Official data has been presented by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for TIME.
Trepça has benefited nearly 1 million euros from 31 sponsorship agreements. Two of the deals were pretty big. One certificate was issued for 200 euros, while another for 150.
The commission for reviewing and evaluating requests for issuing certification for sponsorships in the field of culture, youth and sports has issued over 700 certifications during 2022, according to official data. In 2021, 512 certifications were issued, and 227 in 2020, when the application of the sponsorship law began.
Nine million and 118 thousand euros are the benefits of sports federations and clubs from the Law on Sponsorships according to the official report for 2022.

Sigal Prishtina has also won quite well from the Superliga clubs in basketball sponsorship agreements. KB Prishtina won 629 thousand euros, followed by Golden Eagle Ylli with 518 thousand euros, Peja with 248 thousand euros, Rahoveci with 91 thousand euros, Vellaznimi with 80 thousand euros, Bashkimi with 78 thousand euros and Ponte Prizreni with 66 thousand euros.
In total, elite basketball clubs have earned significantly more than soccer clubs.
The two basketball clubs, Prishtina and Bashkimi, also benefited from the Law. KBF Prishtina benefited 72 thousand euros, 35 thousand only from the public enterprise "Termokos". KBF Bashkimi benefited 49 thousand euros.
In total, Super League basketball clubs have benefited 2.6 million euros. The two women's clubs have benefited from the agreements 121 thousand euros.
Based on the Sponsorship Law, sponsors are granted a 30 percent deduction from profit tax. The law is considered very favorable to the sport, but there are doubts about whether the supervision is adequate.
In the list of 700 sponsorship deals there are other basketball clubs that have benefited.
For example, KB Ylli 04 has benefited 13 thousand euros from four agreements, according to official data.
Federations and clubs of other sports have also benefited from the Law on Sponsorships in the Field of Culture, Youth and Sports.
