Kastrati continues to step back in search of the explosion

Lirim Kastrati is ready for a new beginning. It is willing to fight for space. But in a weaker league. In a smaller club.

In search of the explosion, the temporary representative of Kosovo has taken another step back in his career. After leaving the Croatian giant, Dinamo Zagreb, for Legia Warsaw, Kastrati has also left the Polish team. He left Legia to continue his career in Hungary. On Monday, he signed with the Fehervar team. The Hungarian league is estimated to be behind the Polish one. Finally, Fehervari is a smaller club than Legia. Just like Legia is a smaller club than Dinamo Zagreb.

Kastrati had left Dinamo because he was not playing regularly. For the same reason, he left Legia, one of the biggest clubs in Poland.

Fehervar finished the last championship in fourth place in Hungary. There are three Hungarian titles. The first in 2011, the second in 2015 and the last in 2018. He was runner-up eight times, while he won the Hungarian Cup twice.

"Sometimes on the way to your dreams, you turn back and you have to start all over again. I am here now, stronger than ever, with confidence and ready to fight", Kastrati wrote after completing the transfer to Hungary.

Kastrati's potential has never been questioned. He is characterized by speed, but it was not enough for Legia. It has been clear for weeks that the 23-year-old has no future at the Polish club. He played only in one of the seven matches of this edition. He spent 13 minutes on the field. Two more times he was on the bench, while in the last four games he did not gather at all.

In the last edition, he had 15 appearances in the Polish championship. He did not score a goal and did not assist. Had a goal in the Europa League and a goal and an assist in the cup matches.

At Dinamo Zagreb, he had four goals and nine assists in 51 appearances. Not enough to stabilize in the Croatian giants' first team. He had broken out at Lokomotiv Zagreb and thus ensured the transfer to Dinamo.

Kastrati has 17 appearances for Kosovo, but he hasn't played in a while. He hopes to get his career back on track by switching to Hungarian football.

He signed for three years. Kastrati has emphasized that there were offers from other clubs, but he believes that Fehervar is the right club for him.

"I feel it will be a good opportunity to show myself. My goal is to present myself in such a way that the coach of Kosovo can count on me again. I am convinced that we will have a successful season with good matches and goals", said Kastrati.

At 23 years old, Kastrati still has time to break into the serious levels of European football. Much will depend on the balance of the Hungarian team. Goals and assists are expected from him to take the next step in his career. Obviously in the right direction.
