The current Kosovo handball champion, Besa Famgas, is back to winning ways after being stopped by Pristina in midweek. Besa won a hard-fought 45:14 win over Samadrexha in Peja on Saturday. This match was part of the ninth week of the Kosovo Handball Super League.
Besa leads with 16 points, two more than Kastrioti and Prishtina, who have one less game to play. Three more games were played on Saturday.
Drita e Gjilani won against Vëllaznimi in Gjakova with the score 27:22, Zhegra and Drenica tied with the score 37:37, while Vushtrri defeated Trepca with the score 28:22. The derby between Kastriot and Prishtina will be played in midweek because the Ferizaj team had European matches on Sunday, writes Koha Ditore.
Two women's handball matches have also been postponed to midweek due to Istog's European challenge. Istog will play away against Samadrexha, while in the derby Shqiponja hosts Vushtrri. This match was postponed after two Vushtrri players helped Istog.
Three matches of the eighth week of the Handball Super League were played over the weekend. On Sunday, Prishtina won against Drita with the score 37:24. On Saturday, the matches were Vëllaznimi - Kastrioti and Vjosa - Jusuf Gërvalla. Kastrioti won with the score 48:14 and Jusuf Gërvalla with the score 23:14.
