Lewis Hamilton has been declared world champion in Formula 1 for the fifth time, joining the list of the best drivers in history.
The 33-year-old becomes only the third pilot in the history of this sport to win five world titles, reports the BBC.
He equals the record of the legendary Argentine pilot Juan Manuel Fangio with five titles, he is behind the record holder Michael Schumacher, who was declared the best in the world seven times, reports Koha.net.
At the Mexican Grand Prix, the British driver only needed to finish seventh to be crowned champion, even if Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel were to win the race, but the German finished second behind Max Verstappen.
However, fourth place was enough for Hamilton to be crowned F1 champion.
