Gjilani and Drita continue to play on fields with synthetic grass. Their stadium is far from finished. Drenica's stadium was significantly damaged and at the weekend they played the home match in Lipjan. Most of the teams have complained about the pitch in Malishevë. The Trepca '89 stadium facility in Mitrovica is very old, while the surrounding wall was demolished months ago.
That is not all.
The "Adem Jashari" stadium in Mitrovica looks more like a ruin than a sports facility. Prishtina is forced to play in other cities to maintain the field of the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium. There are big problems with the football infrastructure in Ferizaj, Gjakovë and Peja. Even in any other city.
But the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports are optimistic, although the situation is considered very challenging. Optimists in MKRS were also in the past, but for almost two decades the improvements were not great. There were many failures.
"We are joining forces for the consolidation of football infrastructure in Kosovo", the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, wrote on Monday. He has shown that he had a meeting with the chairman of the FFK, Agim Ademi, and with the mayors of several municipalities. Together with Ademi, they "unveiled the five-year investment plan for the development of football infrastructure in Kosovo" in front of several mayors.

"We discussed the possibilities of joint implementation of this investment program and made a commitment to continue with the cooperation agreement between MKRS, FFK and the relevant municipalities. In order to realize this plan, which foresees the completion of current projects, renovations and new football stadiums, we have received a commitment for financial and professional support from FIFA and UEFA," wrote Minister Çeku.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, mentioned 30 stadiums for five years.
"Football infrastructure project, towards implementation. For five years, 30 stadiums in different municipalities of Kosovo", she wrote.
FFK also wrote that the plan, which was presented to FIFA and UEFA some time ago, foresees the completion of the renovation of the current stadiums and the construction of new stadiums with UEFA standards.
The Mayor of Ferizaj Municipality, Agim Aliu, was part of the meeting at MKRS. He has presented the request of Ferizaj for a new stadium.

"I emphasized the necessity of building the new football stadium 'Ismet Shabani' in Ferizaj, as requested by thousands of Ferizaj residents, in the area of sports complexes in the urban part. Ferizaj, the sportsmen, the sports clubs, the fans of Ferizaj sports fans deserve this great work", wrote Aliu.
Not only football infrastructure is problematic. The condition of sports gyms, even those built from scratch, is very worrying. For example, the gym in Istog was severely damaged by the winds a few days ago, while that facility has had many problems since it opened.
Most gyms continue to be unheated, while matches continue to be played at low temperatures.
In recent years, many sports facilities have been built in Kosovo. But very few of them are built properly, with the required standards and quality material. This causes problems in almost all sports facilities to be big. So far, no one has taken responsibility for the badly done, haphazard and half-done jobs.

Meanwhile, as in the past, the projects are very ambitious and are presented with great fanfare.
Municipalities not only do not have money to build new facilities, but they also find it very difficult to maintain the current facilities. And improper maintenance is another blow to the country's sports infrastructure.
