The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, has said that the potential organization of the Mediterranean Games from Kosovo in 2030 would have an impact beyond sports.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, members of the government cabinet held a coordination meeting regarding Kosovo's candidacy for the organization of the Mediterranean Games, Pristina 2030, according to an announcement from the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday evening.
"There it was discussed about the importance and positive impact that the possible selection as host country of the Mediterranean Games would have for our country, which would simultaneously constitute a historical moment for us by becoming the host of an international event of this kind for the first time. size", the announcement states.
Kurti has assessed this candidacy as an important moment as a state for Kosovo, "but also for us as a government to demonstrate our potential to do great things".
"The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku emphasized that the influence of this organization goes beyond sports, and should be considered as a platform that includes the development plans of all other sectors relevant to the organization of the games. Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, shared with the attendees the latest information about the application process for the organization of the Mediterranean Games, while emphasizing the need and importance of cooperation and inter-institutional support in the preparation and finalization of the official application and integrated", it is stated in the announcement of Minister Çeku's statement.
The 2030 Mediterranean Games marks the 21st edition of this multi-sport event which brings together athletes and citizens of 26 countries on three continents that are affected by the waters of the Mediterranean. Kosovo had officially announced its candidacy for organizing these games at the beginning of April.
