Beçiragic with big plans for Ylli and Bosnia-Herzegovina

On Friday it was announced that the champion of Kosovo in basketball, Golden Eagle Ylli, will play in the Champions League. On Friday, Ylli's coach, Adis Beçiragić, was elected to the position of the selector of Bosnia-Herzegovina, his country. Beçiragic has led Ylli to two championship titles, while he will continue to lead the team from Suhareka. So at the same time he will manage Golden Eagle Yllin and the Bosnian representative. In basketball, there are many coaches who act in this way, leading the team and representative at the same time.

Beçiragić in Bosnia replaces Vedran Bosnić. Bosnić, former successful player of Bashkimi and Peja, resigned from the position of selector. He had disagreements with the leaders of the Bosnian Federation, as he wrote that they interfered in the selection of players. Bosnić is highly regarded for the work done in Bosnia. Now it is up to Beçiragić to continue the growth of this representative.

"First of all, I have to say that I am sorry for the recent events related to the resignation of Vedran Bosnić. I called him a few days ago and asked him to reconsider the decision. I truly believed with all my heart that in the end I would stay. I am really sorry, as he had to finish the job he has done so well. In the meeting with the members of the Governing Council of the Federation, I agreed to take the function of the selector, based on the bad moment in which this is happening. I know it will be hard, but what choice did I have? To say no to the national team of my country and push it into bigger problems", said Beçiragić for the official website of the Bosnian Federation.

He is from Sarajevo, while he belongs to a successful generation of the Bosnian representative of the 90s. He started his career at the Bosna club, while he reached his peak at the Turkish Ulkeri. He was the champion of Turkey and also played in the Euroleague. As a coach, he managed Darussafaka, Gaziantep, Konyaspor and several other Turkish teams. He was the right-hand man of Bogdan Tanjevic, the long-time coach of Turkey. Beçiragic was also Iraq's coach, while in Kosovo he initially worked at Peja. In the last two editions, he managed Yllin and won two championship titles.

With Bosnia-Herzegovina, Beçiragık faces big challenges.

"There is a little time until the next two qualifying matches for the World Cup and there is a lot of work. I would ask the public to continue to give maximum support to the great guys. All together we will give our best in the period that is in front of us. We go forward, stay with us", added Beçiragic.

For KOHEN, the Bosnian coach has confirmed that he will continue working at Ylli i Suhareka.

"Yes, I will continue with Ylli as well. The goals with Ylli are even bigger", Beçiragic briefly emphasized. The club has also confirmed that Beçiragic will remain in the position of coach. The star aims to defend the title of the champion, but also aims to take important steps on the European stage.
