The Atletico Madrid team has expressed interest in the left wing defender, the Spaniard Marcos Alonso, reported "El Chiringuito" on Thursday.
Alonso is expected to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window and at Atletico is seen as a suitable reinforcement for the left wing. It is learned that the Spanish team is ready to pay about 15 million euros in compensation for the transfer of Alonso, who has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. The 29-year-old, this season, has had little space at Chelsea after registering only three appearances in Premier League.
Alonso joined Chelsea in 2016 from Fiorentina, while he has also played for Sunderland and Bolton.
