After more than two months of suspension, Kosovar football will return next week with the semi-final matches of the Kosovo Cup.
In an interview for KosovaPress, the president of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, spoke in detail about the preparations for the resumption of the championship, as well as the development of the remaining matches until the end of this season.
Ademi first stated that FFK has made all preparations in coordination with the Ministry of Health and now everything is ready to resume.
"I hope that first he returns to football and the virus goes away. Of course, we have made our preparations to the best of our ability, those that have been requested by the instruction. Of course, the instruction of the Ministry of Health and the Institute will be respected and normally I am happy that the clubs have all done the tests first. In addition to the measures we have taken, we must take care because health comes first. We have taken measures to make the tunnel as well, of course you have it without disinfectant, which is an extremely large measure for disinfection for all the people, all the actors who participate in a match", he said.
Ademi said that he hopes that the footballers will be maximally prepared for the return and that everything until the last game will go as planned.
"I hope that the footballers are also prepared for the return and I believe that everything will go in a normal course. I hope it goes normally. I wish that no footballer is injured first and certainly not affected by this virus because I believe that more than the virus it will be any injury that any footballer may have because it is not easy to come back after a difficult two months really", he added.
The head of the FFK also spoke about the last decision of the Executive Committee of the FFK, which foresees the closure of the First and Second Leagues, closing these leagues with the current ranking in which they are.
He said that this decision came as a result of the recommendation from the Ministry of Health, as this institution has allowed only the Superliga to play the remaining matches.
"The main criterion was the decision of the Ministry of Health and you have seen the decision, of course we made it public because it is only the Superliga, we have no possibility despite the demands we have made for football to be played, since the Superliga is being released, all leagues should be released. but in reality it was not possible and it simply allowed us only for the specifics that need to be done. The specifics that can be done is it can be a match itself, it can be the play-off, which we have also examined, but not as usual in one place, that is to finish", he said.
FFK has recently decided to reduce the salaries of its employees by up to 50%, where Ademi confirmed this by announcing that half of their salaries, together with a great help from the players of the national team A of Kosovo, have been donated to help families in need.
"That money was given for aid, you know that we also made a package for aid, together with the footballers of the A team, the footballers of our national team whom I thank extremely for their readiness, for every variant, every point of which we at the Football Federation have done the initiation for humanities and for these things help in all aspects have been ready and are always ready", he concluded.
We remind you that football in Kosovo will return next week, precisely on Wednesday the first match after more than two months will be played between Balkani and Feronikeli, while the next day Pristina will host the team at the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium of Drenica.
