During this year, goods worth about 8 million euros have entered Kosovo from the Serbian state.
Of these, 5 million euros were given for the import of 2 million kilograms of cookies and sweets from this country.
The spokesman of the Kosovo Customs, Adriatik Stavileci, has announced that compared to last year, the percentages of imports from Serbia remain the same.
The import of products from Serbia, adds Stavileci, is focused on the food industry, but there are also other industrial products, while Kosovo's export to Serbia is focused on fruits, vegetables and construction materials.
According to citizens, many of the local products can be replaced with products coming from Serbia and other countries of the region.
The economic expert, Mustafa Kadriaj, says that while companies from Serbia manage to have a large market in Kosovo, Kosovo's products have more difficulty penetrating the Serbian market.
Berat Rukiqi, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, has estimated that there is currently a trade imbalance between Kosovo and Serbia and this, according to him, damages the country's economy.
According to the data of the Statistics Agency, Kosovo continues to face a high trade deficit. The contribution of exports with CEFTA countries according to the data of October, 2021 was over 24 million euros, while the import was close to 90.3 billion euros.
