The story of the woman who started the business from her home in the village of Vrelle

Pickles, ajvar, pies, various jams and dairy products are what have found a place on the table of the Bicaj family from Vrella and Istog.

There is also mint tea, which this autumn is what Arbeni and Safetja start the day with.

All of them are collected and cultivated by themselves.

Recently, they are doing this not only for the family, but also for those who want to buy village products.

"First we had 15 golds of flowers, then 10 golds of mint tea. We managed to grow up to 60 gold with tea. Then I deal with pickles, ajvares, jams. I have all of these in bio, anyone who is interested in trying them is welcome", said Safete Bicaj.

Safetja had the idea, but Arbeni has also been included in the work. Their day starts at 6 am and work ends at 19 pm.

"I wake up at 6 in the morning and my wife wakes up at this time, she usually makes me tea before I go to work. I go to work while the wife goes about her day. At 19:00 in the evening I return from work and every free time I have I help my wife with the housework. I also tell others to help their wives, that is, a married cohabitation should be the same and live happily", said Arben Bicaj, a resident of the village of Vrelle.

Safetja motivates girls and other women to do what they know and love. According to her, success is achieved only through work.

"I appeal to every woman to deal with ajvara, pickles or other things in their homes so that they have the possibility of self-employment. They can achieve it like me normally with the support of my husband and children", she added.

Safetja has received the greatest support for her successes from her family.

"My wife has started preparing natural foods and teas and I am her assistant. I have supported him a lot in the planting of medicinal and aromatic plants, vegetables, as well as the preparation of air, pickled peppers, jams, etc., declared Arben Bicaj.

Bicaj cannot imagine life away from the village.

"I had not lived in the city, because I have lived in the village for 54 years and the village is everything to me. There is no life without a village. Even the guests when they come to us praise the food because my wife cooks very well", he asserted.

Beekeeping is part of them. Safetja takes more care of them, but says that with the addition of beehives, she will also hire other women from the village.

"I have been dealing with bees for 2 years, I am a young beekeeper, I started with 4 hives, at the moment I have 20. Even these have their own properties, we must take care of them as they can be damaged by parasites, not insects others. When the time was good, he extracted up to 20 kilograms of honey from a beehive. I started with 4 hives, currently I have 20, but I claim that next year I will have 50-60 beehives. If I expand, I think I will hire two more workers", said Safete Bicaj.

The couple sells their products mainly by order in the markets of Istog and Peja.
