Esat Shala is the collector of over 2000 videotapes documenting the recent war in Kosovo and the massacres in the country. He has started the museum alone, without any institutional support, which is expected to open to the public this year. In the village of Krajkovë in the Drenas Municipality, Esat Shala, a collector of war evidence, has single-handedly begun building a museum and archive to document Serbian crimes during the war in Kosovo.
He has shown all the ideas he has for this project, which is expected to be a national asset and never personal property.

"The museum started in mid-December and has a capacity of 120 seats and will be a very large projector where viewers will be able to see, meaning there will be many people who will come to visit this museum and see videos of the war that have never been seen before. There will also be a psychologist and various photographs and archives. We will also receive personal accounts and documentaries," he said.
This idea came with the help of a friend of his, who had long ago told him that it was something worth doing.
After Shala's many years of work in collecting over 2000 videotapes on a voluntary basis, he is now realizing his childhood dream.
"A friend from Pristina, Arbër Azemi, came to me, and he stayed with me with a friend of his and we talked about war materials. I usually showed him some parts of the war videos that have never been seen until today and my desire was there and then an idea was born and I didn't know that he was a graduated architect and after two weeks he brought me the plan and the project," he added.
He started this initiative alone, without any institutional support.

"The funding belongs to the people, meaning the Municipality of Drenas and Skenderaj has ignored me and has not taken me into account regarding this project, nor has the state taken me into account, this project can only be completed by the people and various individuals. My friends in America are also helping me," said Shala.
Shala has announced that the determination is great and the motive remains the same, not to forget the history of Kosovo.
"The will is because before the war we were persecuted by the Serbian state, Sahit Shala was killed, then the war, then my uncle disappeared, then my sister and the other soldiers. This is my dream, my work will not stop, I will continue on the ground to do more than in the past, thousands of people are waiting for someone to open the door and tell their stories," he said.
The collector of thousands of war testimonies called on all citizens to join his initiative.

The brother of martyr Luljeta Shala is continuing his contribution of more than two decades with the museum that is expected to open within this year.
