Only two years after the first publication of KOHA Ditore newspaper, Kosovo found itself in wartime.
This led to the expulsion of over 1 million citizens from Kosovo to Bllaca in Macedonia.
And with the development of these events, the need for mass information increased even more. Thus, part of the Koha staff who were refugees in Macedonia decided to continue publishing the newspaper even in those circumstances.
From April 99 until today, Sami Kčiku works with the same keyboard that he got from Tetova, where the publication of KOĖA Ditore continued.
"I've had the keyboard with which I currently work since 99, when we worked in Tetovo. I won't change it because I have a special relationship with it. As long as it works, I'll use it. The deportation to Tetovo was the last act after all that happened to us, it was the last closing chapter. They welcomed us very well and I use the opportunity to thank all the Albanian people of Macedonia who have helped and especially the newspaper who have helped us to resume work there. For 23 years I have never returned to Tetovo and that very feeling that it was the last chapter has prevented me from ever returning and opening that chapter and bringing back those memories, because we are dealing with thousands and thousands pictures of the massacres of all those that happened here, so it was difficult to return to those events once again", said Kçiku, editor of social networks in the KOHA Group.

For Kçik, it is the first time after 23 years that Tetova is his destination.
Traveling through the memories of that time has been something he has not been able to do.
The 25th anniversary of the Daily TIME turned out to be a strong reason for him to make his way there.
23 years later, the city of Tetova looks almost different from then.
Among the many changes and new constructions, the office that became the newspaper's editorial office had remained almost the same.
For the work to publish the newspaper to begin, under completely different conditions and circumstances, was a challenge in itself.
First, the meeting with the rest of the staff who were also refugees in Macedonia, and the provision of equipment.

Neighbors close to the office also came to help.
Etem Iseni still works in that building and remembers how they used the same phone line.
He found the newspaper every morning at the door of his office.
"When KOHA Ditore came, we were in a nearby office. I experienced them as a very important and necessary moment for that time, so that the opinion, the citizens of Kosovo are properly informed about what is happening in their country and the sacrifices at that time", he confessed.
In front of the building where work continued on the publication of the newspaper is the restaurant where Kçiku and his colleagues usually held meetings and made decisions together.
The main goal was to inform the mass about the situation in Kosovo.
